Adopt a Highway Inspiration
A story about the Law of Attraction in Action
On my walk this morning along Icedale Rd. I was thinking "I would like a $ 20 bill" That simple. I see pennies... sometimes more in loose change. As I walked admiring trees, flowers and wildlife, instinct directed me to the road way... specifically to admire a mail box with a mound of dirt around it... with some scattered stones. LO, and BEHOLD!
A white crystal indian spear head in near perfect condition! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! How did it end up on top of this small group of stones and nobody else noticed or wanted it! Surely everyday the owner came to retrieve mail, he or she must have noticed!
I scooped up the treasure and held it in my hands, feeling its weight and experiencing its power. I continued my walk, looking for more arrowheads, yet knowing this was special...one of a kind.
I began noticing how much trash was strewn along the edge of the road. Cigarette packs, beer cans, water bottles, a rusted spatula, etc. Something sparked a memory of a commercial from my childhood; something that moved me as a 5 year old. The commercial showed scenes of litter along roads... a Native American with a tear rolling down his face.
THE COINCIDENCE: Just yesterday I was reading the newsletter for Brandwyine Township requesting volunteers to help clean up the roads. This is something I always thought was a good idea because I would get some exercise in and could be like a detective gathering up evidence....interesting what you find along side the road. So here is an opportunity to give back... to clean this gorgeous road... to pay homage to something that moved me as a child ...
I continued my return walk on the other side of the road. Grinning with my find, I still put it out there to find a $ 20... or better (was my new thought). I was scanning the drainage ditch that followed along side the road, and guess what I found? Not a $ 20, but a $50! Holy Smokes! Well, this was indeed a fine way to start the day!
Out of this walk came a remembering of a child who cried about a polluted environment and its effect on mankind. The Moses Code speaks of manifesting from the heart and in giving back through love. Surely these gifts were an awakening to take action and give something back.
Thank you to everyone for offering to support the Adopt-A-Highway program. Other dates will be posted.
Sincerely,
